A World Premiere for Liverpool – Message From the Chairman

For those of you who are unaware of this, we have very exciting news. Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Master of the Queen’s Music, has agreed to write a piece for two choirs and organ for our major contribution to the Capital of Culture year. The world premiere will be on Saturday, 13 December at 7:30 p.m. in the Cathedral, definitely a date for your diaries. Timothy Noon, Director of Music at the Cathedral, will direct the Cathedral and Cantata Choirs and Richard Lea will play the organ. Sir Peter will attend.

In addition to funds donated by the Choir Association, ourselves and some kind individuals, we have received £5,000 from the Culture Company.

We still need, however, several thousands more to pay for the music, stage the performance and to make a CD recording. If you think you can help – and no sum is too small – there are two ways you can do this. Please either print off and complete the form below – feel free to copy it to all your family and friends! - and send it together with a cheque/postal order made payable to Charities Trust to the following address:
