This is the first of our opera series. Look ahead to the 2nd July 2011 for our next : Gluck’s ‘Orpheus and Euridice’.
If you enjoy Baroque music there is more coming up.
On Saturday 15th October 2011 we are performing Vivaldi’s Gloria with music by Purcell and Bach.

Mainly Mendelssohn at his most popular : “O for the wings of a dove” and the Italian Symphony, but also the chance to hear a rare psalm setting.

If this is your type of concert look ahead to the 5th February 2011 for more Mendelssohn and Bruch’s wonderful violin concerto.

 

Sat   20 Nov 7.30pm Cathedral Choir 50th Anniversary Concert   Yes ! The Cathedral Choir was founded half a century ago.

Join us to celebrate this special occasion when, in addition to the Cathedral Choir, directed by Timothy Noon, with Richard Lea, Organ, and The Cathedral Orchestra, ex-choristers will join the Choir in a varied repertoire, including popular choral classics.

If you have not yet visited the new concert hall , The Capstone, on the same site as Cornerstone, this is an ideal opportunity. Who better than Beethoven to provide the finale for the Liverpool Hope University Festival.

A feast of festive music including all the old favourites , “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”, “Sleigh Ride”, plus Holst’s “Christmas Day” for chorus and orchestra , and a chance to join in singing traditional carols.
