After winning the Liverpool Festival Piano Student of the Year Competition at the age of 17, Kirsty decided a career in music was for her and she graduated with a BMus (hons) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2007.
As accompanist Kirsty has worked with many talented artists in performances for Liverpool Opera Four Seasons, the Hungarian Embassy, Wirral Festival of Firsts, Leominster Festival, Frodsham Music and Arts Club, Walton Hall, Trinity Arts Festival, St Martin Ludgate, Crosby Hall Educational Trust, Peterborough Cathedral and the Metropolitan Cathedral. She also performs regularly as part of a piano duo with Gery Marquess. As a soloist Kirsty has performed numerous recitals in the North West, and made her concerto debut at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King in October 2013. Kirsty is also an accomplished singer, and made her solo debut with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in the opening concert of their 2014-2015 series. She also enjoys being a member of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir. Since completing her undergraduate degree, Kirsty has successfully passed her PGCE and is currently working as a tutor in Crosby. She was awarded the Hudson Challenge Trophy for music teaching by the Crosby Festival of Music, Speech and Dance in 2010. She currently tutors at St Hilda's CE High School in Liverpool. |
