Mike Stubbs was born in Liverpool. He initially studied composition with John Moseley and organ with Terence Duffy in Liverpool before moving on to read music at The City University in London as organ scholar, where his tutors included Simon Holt (composition) and Catherine Ennis (organ).
His music covers a wide range of genres from solo instrumental music such as the critically acclaimed organ fanfare 'Once Around, Anticlockwise' (2010) through to full scale orchestral works such as 'Doric Star' (2014). Examples of his music can be found at https://soundcloud.com/user-337892918
